If you have never heard of Northern soul before then head over to the jukebox and spin a few tracks or visit some of the fantastic sites on the links.  If you like me love this stuff then have a look  around - Enjoy!!!!!!!!! so what is this music Northern Soul?  Well that's a tough one. To me it's the 60's/70's soul that was missed because of the vast amount of soul put out by the record companies at the time. For every one hit in the charts there were at least twenty that should have been. In the sixties in the UK people started to get there hands on them. First the Mods in The Beat Clubs; soon in the "TWISTED WHEEL" in Manchester, the rare soul scene that was to be coined "Northern soul" grew as the mod scene faded. In 1971 On January 31st the doors of the "Wheel" closed for the last time, but this was only the beginning.  Other clubs  now took over from where the "Wheel" had left off , clubs like "The Torch" -  Still more followed:-"Blackpool Mecca" and for me the top one

Now I'm sorry if this is only a very basic outline of this
music but that's what this site is about "just the basics"
